Björn has always had a passion for design and architecture and a deep appreciation of the vision of Walt Disney, to combine design with storytelling, the foundation of experience or experiential design.
In 1999 Björn was hired by the Cincinnati based design company Jack Rouse Associates as a designer on Volkswagen Autostadt Project in Wolfsburg, Germany. During his time at JRA, he successfully worked on major national and international projects, such as ZDF Medienpark, Germany, HarborLand Theme Park, China, the Singapore Science Center and the new World Of Coca-Cola, Atlanta.
Most recently Björn worked as lead attraction designer and design director on Ferrari World Theme Park, Abu Dhabi. Here he was responsible for the complete design of the park’s four state-of-the-art dark rides. Ferrari World will be the world’s largest indoor theme park, celebrating the history, the spirit and the excitement of Ferrari, and is slated to open on October 28th, 2010.
Known for his unique design style, his conceptualizing skills and attention to detail, Björn understands that the audience is ultimately the only true client. He has the proven ability to creatively direct diverse talents to realize his innovative concepts and create engaging, highly successful guest experiences on the cutting edge of today’s technology.
Björn studied Architecture at Technische Universität Darmstadt, Germany, and lives with his family in Cincinnati, Ohio. His most creative productions are his two sons, Yann and Lars.
